Valve says: Playing CS:GO won’t put you in a faster Counter-Strike 2 test

After weeks of teasing and gossip, Counterattack 2 invade the internet to confirm that, yes, it is a real thing and not a shared public fantasy. It’s due out in full this summer, and Valve has been holding a limited access test since the announcement of the fake sequel. They invited selected players based on factors important to the development team, such as trust factor, Steam account status, and recent playtime on Valve’s servers. But last night Valve shook their finger like a strict parent, informing fans that let’s play more. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive won’t put them on a faster CS2 test.
Valve has been quick to lock doors for newcomers to CS:GO this past week. “Not using the official matchmaking servers in CS:GO does not increase your chances [it] into CS2 Limited Test,” they shared on Twitter. “Playtime counts as your playtime prior to the start of the Limited Trial.”
Valve has previously stated that they are slowly rolling out more limited test invites and those hopeful players should keep checking the CS:GO menu – not various third party websites request your information. So, if you’re a longtime CS:GO fan, there’s still a chance you’ll be invited to try out Source 2’s revamp. However, it seems new players won’t be as lucky. so and all players in general won’t be able to increase their chances any further.
For now, hopeful fans can simply learn the details that were previously revealed. Following the same logic as those fad diets that ask you to smell food instead of eating it, perhaps reading about Counter-Strike 2 will help satisfy your hunger. CS2 will be a free upgrade to CS:GO, bringing all your unlocks with you. Its three flashy improvements come from more realistic smoke effects, a new approach to marker scaling, and some overhauled maps.
