Uvalde school shooting survivor’s father says she’s ‘not a little girl anymore’
In a pre-recorded video, 11-year-old Miah Cerrillo described to lawmakers how she survive Robbery elementary school massacre by smearing her friend’s blood on herself and pretending to be dead.
She said students were trying to hide behind their teacher’s desk when the gunman entered the classroom.
The gunman shot the teacher in the head as well as several of her classmates, including the friend next to her, Cerrillo said.
When he went into the adjoining room, she “got some blood and then I smeared it all over” and was silent.
She took the teacher’s phone to call 911. She told the dispatcher they needed help and sent the police.
Cerrillo said all she wants is “to have security” and that she’s afraid to go back to school for fear of another shooting.
