Usyk calls Fury-Chisora Fight ‘Spar’ and reveals the key to defeating him
As expected, Tyson Fury put on an overwhelming performance against brave Derek Chisora to set up an exciting 2023 for blue-band boxing.
At times, it seems like Fury is almost going easy on his old friend Chisora, choosing not to deal maximum damage to the veteran boxer. The final match was stopped by referee Victor Loughlin in the 10th round, with many arguing that ‘Del Boy’ should have been freed from his misery sooner.
If fans want to, Fury’s next fight will be his first undisputed heavyweight title since Lennox Lewis more than twenty years ago. That means the man from Morecambe faces the undisputed former cruiser class champion and the current WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO and WBA. Rings heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk.
The Ukrainian tennis player was in London to watch his next potential opponent and, when asked about the fight during a media debate with Boxing Socialdidn’t seem impressed with the action.
“So good sparring”
To speculation that Fury could have ended the fight when he wanted to, Usyk replied:
“If he could, maybe he would have finished it sooner.”
When finally asked about the size difference between him and Fury, Usyk seemed unfazed and revealed that his fitness will be the key to victory:
“The engine is much more important than the fuselage [physical]”
The two of them squared off with each other after the last bell with the Ukrainians remaining calm as the ‘King of Gypsy’ shouted at him, even pause abuse to make a phone call.
Both teams appear to want to fight and there seem to be few obstacles in the way of doing it, with Saudi Arabia being widely cited as the venue for the match.
