Using Cash App? You May Be Eligible for a Settlement Payment – Up to $2,500
In 2021 and 2023, Cash App suffered two separate data breaches — the first was a former employee downloading user transaction reports, and the other was an unauthorized person accessing user account data.
A new class action lawsuit alleges that Cash App was negligent in handling these breaches and failed to adequately address customer concerns. Now, the company is paying settlements to affected users — if you suffered financial losses, you may be eligible.

The exact amount each user receives will depend on how many users file claims and how much money the attorneys take. However, the settlement website says you can file a claim for up to $2,500 to recoup losses.

Other users complained of thieves taking money to buy Bitcoin, Google Marketplace gift cards, Roblox marketplace items, stocks, and more. Some class members had all their money taken at once, while others had it taken over time as many as 75 different times.
What losses can users recover?

How do you know if you qualify?
The lawsuit documents state that anyone who was a Cash App customer between August 23, 2018, and August 20, 2024, and whose account information was accessed without consent or who had fraudulent withdrawals or transfers as a result of the breach is eligible to file.
