Usher will be honored with BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award
Usher Raymond will be awarded BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
The network reports the Grammy winner will be honored for his iconic career during a live broadcast on June 30.

Usher received the Lifetime Achievement Award
The 45-year-old has had a great year – this well-deserved recognition is the cherry on top. Usher gave a commendable performance at the Apple Music halftime show Super Bowl LVII in February. Additionally, he released his 9th studio album, “Coming Home” the same month. It reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. The coveted BET Lifetime Achievement Award pays homage to music industry innovators and cultural contributors. It recognizes their achievements on stage and their charitable deeds away from the spotlight. Previous recipients include Prince, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, New Edition, Lionel Richie, Anita Baker and Samuel L. Jackson.
Usher’s relationship with BET spans decades. BET’s special EVP, music programming and music strategy, Connie Orlando, stated, “…from multiple appearances on 106 & Park, to most recently winning the title of Entertainer of the Year at the 55th NAACP Image Awards.”
Additionally, the executive noted that Usher “His electrifying performances and unforgettable voice and signature moves and sounds.” She speaks, “USHER continues to stand tall on culture, setting new standards for the music industry and Black Excellence.”
Orlando added, “We look forward to creating a fantastic product line that pays tribute to our global icon.”
Furthermore, guest singers from Surprise will take the stage to perform some of Usher’s most beloved songs.
