US Twitter launches new shopping feature Product Drops

The US-based social media company Twitter recently announced a new shopping feature – Product Drops, which keeps shoppers updated with the latest launch of brands’ collections.

With Product Drops, when a seller tweets about an upcoming launch, users can see a “Remind Me” button at the bottom of the tweet. With one tap, users can request to be reminded of Drop. On launch day, users will receive an in-app notification in their notifications tab 15 minutes before and at the time of the drop. When a user clicks on the notification, they can see a “shop on site” button to make a purchase on the merchant’s website.

When a user clicks on a seller’s tweet, they can open the product detail page – a full-screen space where the user can view all the information needed to make an informed purchasing decision. This includes pricing, images, product descriptions, and clickable hashtags that will let users know what other Twitter shoppers are saying about the product.

Currently, only US shoppers using Twitter in English on iOS devices can view and interact with Product Drops. The social media company is testing Product Drops with a number of managed partners. Some of the brands with upcoming sales include Dior, Fossil x Jeffstaple, Homedepot, Lego, and Unionlosangeles.
