US tech giant Hewlett Packard plans to cut up to 6,000 jobs
PC maker Hewlett Packard on Tuesday said it will lay off about 6,000 employees over the next three years as the world economic downturn continues to affect the US technology sector.
HP, which has about 61,000 employees, said it aims to save $1.4 billion annually through 2025 as it follows the cost-cutting path of other tech giants like owners. owns Facebook Meta, Amazon and Twitter.
The plan “will enable us to better serve our customers and drive long-term value creation by reducing costs and reinvesting in key growth initiatives to position business for the future,” HP CEO Enrique Lores said in a statement.
