US Marines conduct CBRN training in Japan
The US Marines train intensely to always be ready for a biological or chemical attack.
Marines with 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines, 3d Marine Division participated in training against Chemical, Biological, Radioactive and Nuclear (CBRN) threats during the Program 22.1 Artillery Displacement Training at the Hijudai Training Area of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, Japan.
Marines trained in the operation of detection, monitoring, identification, sampling, and decontamination equipment; and, the tactics, techniques, and procedures for performing traditional CBRN defense operations.

“Skills developed at ARTP (Artillery Displacement Training Program) increase the damage and proficiency of the only permanently deployed artillery unit in the Marines, allowing them to shoot cockroaches. accurate communication,” the 3rd Marine Division said in a press release.
