Update Saturday Kentucky Derby

With three weeks left until the GI Kentucky Derby, the trio of Crown Pride (Jpn) (Access to Crown {Jpn}) (six feathers, 1:18.60), Cyberknife (Gunman) (five feathers, 1:00) and Tiz the Bomb (Hit It a Bomb) (four feathers,: 48.40) worked at Churchill Downs on Saturday.

Gold Square’s GI Arkansas Derby winner Cyberknife was working at 9 a.m. outside of Tommy Bee, his steady-stakes friend (Medaglia d’Oro). Cyberknife starts two paragraphs after Tommy Bee and completes the fractions: 12.20, :23.80 and: 47.20. Cyberknife finished even with Tommy Bee around seven eighth poles and easily galloped six grips in 1:15.40.

“I think he looks great,” said coach Brad Cox. “He’s done well at Churchill in the past and really enjoys it here.”

About 90 minutes earlier, GIII winner Jeff Ruby Steaks S. of Magdalena Lessee, Tiz the Bomb worked with racer Brian Hernandez Jr. in the iron. He scored a quarter mile opening in: 24.20 and galloping out five trailers in 1:01.20.

Moments later, gym racer Masa Matsuda beat Teruya Yoshida, UAE match winner, Pride Crown, six feathers from a half-mile pole. The duo easily completed the opening fractions of: 14.60, :28.20, :54, and 1:06.20. Crown Pride steadily picked up its work in the forward and backward turns before completing the seven-grip pass in 1:32.40.
