[UPDATE] Fortnite is back online, rewards planned for next week
Update: 7:40pm Eastern: Fortnite is back online after going offline for several hours due to server issues. The official Fortnite Status Twitter account confirmed the fix and also promised to compensate players for offline time. Details on that bonus will come next week.

Original story: If you’re having trouble logging into Fortnite today, you’re not alone. Epic Games has confirmed that the battle royale is currently experiencing login and matchmaking issues.
Right now (2:07 p.m. ET), trying to kick off a Fortnite match gets you the following message:
Epic did not share an explanation for the outage but promised to provide information when a solution is available. In the meantime, if you were hoping to get a Victory Royale in the course of the game Winter Festival events, you are unlucky at the moment. The same is true if you are looking to take down an enemy that is Boba Fett to celebrate today’s character premiere new Disney+ series.
Fortnite is currently unavailable and players cannot log in while we investigate the issue.
