(Update) D&Z family responds to backlash over virus rescue videos & comes to a conclusion about what happened

Recently popular social media family D&Z . family Faced backlash from social media users after they allegedly staged a rescue during flooding in Florida caused by Hurricane Ian. They have denied the allegations and responded with receipts about what happened behind the viral TikTok videos.
In a new pose video Desire’e and Zay, along with Zay’s mother, provided background information on what caused them to even go out while it was still flooding in their area. They explained that they had stored the car elsewhere in case of significant damage from the storm. After everything settled down, they went to get their car and that’s where the video started.
They explained that Zay’s mother, who was visiting from Atlanta, had stored her car in a nearby parking garage. They dropped her off so she could get her car. However, she did not know that the area she was trying to reach was super flooded. She had trouble contacting Desire’e and Zay to let them know that there was too much water in the place she was trying to get to. They also admitted that they also tried to contact her, but due to service it was not possible. However, they were able to use social media to try and help their situation.
Desire’e and Zay say that as creators, they point out the good and the bad, and documenting the process is part of what they do and it helps them in this situation, too. A supporter watched a video they were making and it helped them locate Zay’s mother. They apologize if someone thinks they are using flooding as a way to make content, but they say the situation is very real.
Like before reported, after posting a series of videos on TikTok documenting their experience, social media accused the family of staging the whole incident for attention.
