Unfortunate accident: 48 vehicles involved in an accident caused by a tank truck losing control
Up to 48 vehicles were damaged in a fatal road accident when an oil tanker on the Pune-Bengaluru highway is said to have lost control while going downhill on Sunday night. The ANI news agency reported that many people were injured and rescue work was started soon after the incident was reported.
The initial police report highlighted that the tanker driver lost control of the vehicle while descending down the Navale Bridge and crashed into several vehicles. The collision quickly resulted in more collisions from behind-the-scenes traffic. The incident is said to have happened around 10:30 p.m. and lasted about half a kilometer.
The bulletins further emphasized that rescue teams from the Pune Fire Brigade and the Pune Metropolitan Area Development Authority (PMRDA) were brought into service.
