Ukrainian Navy fatally attacked Russian stealth warship

According to Taras Chmut, head of the Ukrainian Military Center, a large patrol corvette of the Russian Navy was targeted in a missile attack from the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“According to preliminary information from the Ukrainian Naval Command, a missile attack was carried out on the Project 22160 patrol boat “Vasily Bykov” of the Ukrainian Navy. [Russian] Black Sea Fleet,” he said.

Project 22160 is a new class of large stealth patrol corvettes being built for the Russian Navy and has a hybrid stealth structure. These ships mainly serve missions such as patrol, surveillance and protection in open and closed seas. The first ship was ordered in February 2014 and as of December 2016, five ships are under construction.

With a modular design, the Project 22160 class patrol boat is 94m long, 14m wide and 3.4m high. It has a standard displacement of 1,800 tons and can accommodate up to 80 people.

The ship is equipped with a telescopic hangar and a helipad deck with aft facilities allowing take-off, landing and maintenance of a 12-ton rescue helicopter, such as an airplane. Kamov Ka-27 PS. An inflatable boat can be made for patrol and transport duties.
