Ukrainian forces shelled Russian combat vehicles and a new troop carrier in the Kyiv region.
The Ukrainian military successfully destroyed the advancing Russian forces, including the rare GAZ-3344-20 ‘Aleut’ vehicle, which was designed to operate in the Arctic.
The Aleut is an articulated off-road vehicle developed by the Zavolzhsky Tracked Plant Plant (ZZGT).

According to Janes, the first of a total of 123 platforms was delivered to the Russian Ground Forces stationed in the north of the country in May 2019.
The GAZ-3344 all-terrain vehicle can be used both as a transport vehicle and as a base for various special equipment. The Russian armed forces have now ordered the device in a transport configuration. In this case, the front link can carry up to five people or 500 kg of cargo.
The rear trunk is made in the form of a van with 15 seats; lifting capacity – 2 tons. Can tow a trailer weighing up to 3 tons. The entrance to the front cabin is provided by side doors, the rear has a rear door.
This is not the first time the Russian military has used arctic vehicles for an attack in Ukraine. Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed Russian articulated crawler vehicle DT-30, manufactured by the Ishimbai Transport Machinery Plant (Ishimbaitransmash), in the Kharkiv region.
