Ukrainian combat drone blows up Russian helicopter

Ukrainian officials have released a video of a military drone strike on a Russian Mi-8 Hip type helicopter at the island in the Black Sea.

The footage is believed to have been shot on Ukraine’s Zmiinyi Island, or Snake Island, in the western Black Sea.

Footage of the attack released by Ukrainian forces shows a Russian transport helicopter and its soldiers being suddenly hit by a Ukrainian Bayraktar TB-2 drone.

Apparently, the Russian military decided that transporting infantry by sea was too dangerous and decided to use helicopters. Not long before that, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed two Raptor style Ships and a Serna landing craft of Project 11770 near Zmiinyi Island.

The island of Zmiinyi, located in the northwest of the Black Sea, about 48 km (30 mi) off the coast of Ukraine and 300 km west of Crimea, was annexed by Russia in 2014. It is of considerable strategic importance – only about 16 hectares (40 acres).

The island also became a symbol of Ukrainian resistance after a radio exchange went viral early in the war in which Ukrainian soldiers shrewdly refused the request. surrender of the Russian battleship Moskva.

The Moskva sank in the Black Sea in mid-April after the warship was hit by two Neptun missiles.
