The RM-70 uses the Grad-style 122mm rocket as used in the Soviet BM-21, the world’s most popular rocket artillery system. This missile launcher can fire both projectiles and individual projectiles, mainly by indirect firing. It is designed to cover large concentrated fires (up to 3 hectares (30,000 m2) in one volt) with high-fragmentation explosive ammunition.
According to open sources, Ukraine received more than 20 RM-70 Vampire rocket systems in April 2022.
