Mr. Patil, 42 and a citizen of Ukraine since 2016, bought the animals from a zoo in the capital Kyiv, nearly two years ago. The male cat is a 24-month-old “lepjag”, a rare cross between a male and female jaguar, while the female is a 14-month-old black panther.
