Ukraine received the first Mi-17 helicopter from the US
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are said to have received the first Mi-17 Hip helicopters within the framework of US military and security assistance.
On Monday, Jack Detsch of Foreign Policy tweeted that the US Department of Defense had delivered three Mi-17 helicopters to Ukraine.
These are the first of 11 Mil Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters delivered under a US$800 million military aid package.

The Pentagon is giving Ukraine Mi-17 helicopters that Washington purchased for Afghanistan.
Mi-17 aircraft are mainly used to transport troops and military equipment. Ukraine is one of the former Soviet republics that is home to helicopters manufacturing and repairing facilities.
Those 11 helicopters are heading to Ukraine at a critical time for the country’s armed and manned military, as Russia ramps up attacks in the east and south of the country.
