UK weather: Yellow warnings for wind and rain issued as Storm Claudio lingers | UK News
Three yellow weather warnings are in place today, with rain and wind expected to last as the effects of Cyclone Claudio continue to affect parts of the UK.
The French storm brought lots of wind and rain to the country on Tuesday, with further Met Office warnings to be expected.
In southern Scotland, a yellow rain warning is in effect from 10am to 6pm.

Residents are braced for torrential downpours, which could disrupt travel and possibly flood in some places.
Another yellow rain warning is in place across Northern Ireland from 8am to 3pm, with residents warning that some power supplies and other services could be disrupted.
Chief meteorologist Neil Armstrong said: “30 to 40mm of rain is expected to fall in some areas, and places where it has fallen to ground that has been wet from recent rain as well as fallen leaves may have spray. and flooding on the roads as well as travel delays. . ”
A final yellow wind warning has been issued for parts of northern England and Wales between 7am and 10pm.
Windy conditions will also affect coastal areas of the Irish Sea, with gusts of up to 65mph possible, according to the Met Office.
People have been warned that strong winds may cause some delays for road, rail, air and ferry transport.
Mr Armstrong added: “Much of the UK is likely to see a strong south-easterly wind on Wednesday, but the warning area indicates places where gusts of up to 65 mph and therefore are likely to be seen. Some trips will be delayed.”
The Met Office also warned that short-term power outages are possible, and some sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by high waves.
On Tuesday, gusts of 61mph were recorded in Langdon Bay, Kent, while winds of 59mph were recorded in Heathrow.
