UK EBF 2YO line outlined for ’22

Allocating an additional £100,000 to the total prize pool, the European Breeders Fund announced the UK EBF Series 2yo will provide £200,000 by 2022. The race series is designed to provide high value goals. end of season for the offspring of medium-market stallions. The finals, to be held at the independent Group 1 racecourses, will be held from early September to October. Goodwood and York have both pledged full financial support; funding a UK EBF bonus contribution of £100,000.

“With the reduction in racing in 2020, the UK EBF fund has created a small surplus. The Trustees want to ensure that this money is focused on doing what is best for the industry,” said Simon Sweeting, EBF UK President. “This series not only offers attractive bonus amount targets, but also aims to add more weight to the EBF to incentivize owners to reinvest with desirable sales. With no early closing period and over 100 qualifying opportunities for a horse, we hope that owners and trainers will support this new initiative. We are looking forward to two highly competitive finals in the Fall.”
