UFC star Conor McGregor to have role in ‘Road House’ remake


Former UFC two-division champ Conor McGregor hasn’t competed in the octagon since he bag He broke his tibia and fibula in a loss to Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 264 in July 2021.

It is unknown if McGregor will ever return to the main event with a card for the promotion, but he has embraced another attempt outside of the world of combat sports.

ESPN’s Marc Raimondi reported Wednesday afternoon that McGregor will make his film debut in an upcoming remake of the 1980s film “Road House,” which originally starred Patrick Swayze. Every Justin Kroll by Deadline, the new film will star Jake Gyllenhaal and will be available on Amazon Prime Video whenever it’s released.

“Conor McGregor is excited to expand his career into Hollywood and join Jake Gyllenhaal in his reimagining of ‘Road House,’ a beloved classic,” said McGregor spokeswoman Karen J. Kessler told ESPN via a statement. “While fighting remains his primary focus, this is the start of another successful venture in the McGregor empire. He’s eager to start filming.”

Kroll added that the 34-year-old former “champion” will play a unique character, not himself, in the “Road House” project. Gyllenhaal, meanwhile, will play a former UFC fighter who served as a guard at a Florida Keys facility. The release date of the film is yet to be determined.

According to Raimondi, McGregor and his camp sold the majority of their Right Twelve whiskey brand to Jose Cuervo “in a deal worth up to $600 million” in April 2021. Ireland frankly seems to have plenty of reasons to focus on not – looking for business opportunities for the foreseeable future.
