Leon Edwards kept his welterweight title by defeating Kamaru Usman by majority decision at UFC 286 on Saturday in London.

Edwards drew 48-46, 48-46 while the third referee gave the match score 47-47.

Edwards extended his unbeaten streak to 12 in his first title defense.

“I knew I could go out there and shoot him,” Edwards said. “Even if he puts pressure, not much happens.”

Although the total number of attacks was close, Edwards (March 21) had 120 signature attacks compared to Usman’s 87.

“I knew it was a melee fight,” Usman said. “Great game plan. I’ve always said that from the beginning, I know I’ll see Leon again and I’m not done yet. I will see him again. I always support him for everything he can accomplish. He is also like me. It’s in his blood. Much respect, London. You’ve got yourself a great champion and an asshole.”

Usman lost with the score 20-3.
