Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde faction has been dealt a huge blow today, with the Bombay High Court granting permission to Uddhav Thckeray-led Shiv Sena to hold a Dussehra rally at his iconic Shivaji Park Mumbai. The court denied the Shinde faction’s request not to decide on the lawsuit until the dispute over its claim was resolved.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation had previously denied permission to Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray as well as Eknath Shinde’s faction to organize Dussehra’s rally at the iconic Shivaji Park on the basis of law and order. issued by Mumbai Police. Dadar MLA Sada Sarvankar, part of the Shinde faction, has insisted that under the guise of the current petition, petitioners (led by Thackeray as Shiv Sena) are trying to claim the party.

Mr Sarvankar said he also applied to the Mumbai civil service on August 30 for permission to hold Shiv Sena’s annual Dussehra rally at the iconic Shivaji Park in central Mumbai.

Shiv Sena has been holding a rally in Dussehra every year since 1966. The event is significant this year as Sena is now divided into two camps and the rally is not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the delegates. Covid-19 pandemic.

In August, Uddhav Thackeray inquired about Mr. Shinde, saying the party was unsure if it would be authorized for the event. Mr Thackeray went on to say that whatever happens, he will organize a Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park.

“Shiv Sena’s Dussehra rally will be held at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Shiv Sainiks from all over the state will join this rally. We don’t know these technical things whether the government will allow it or not. . We will organize the protest. It doesn’t matter to us whether others organize the protest or not. Shiv Sena was raised not by traitors but by the blood of Shiv Sainiks.” Thackeray said while addressing workers in his party. He is scheduled to give a keynote speech on developments in Maharashtra at the rally, to be held on 5 October.

The rebel camp, led by Chief Minister Maharashtra Shinde, was given permission to hold a protest at the Bandra Kurla Complex.
