Ubisoft reveals co-op shooter Project U exists, with tests planned

A mysterious new session-based cooperative shooter has been announced by Ubisoft, codenamed Project U. Not many details are known yet, but the game is in the early stages of development and will hold closed betas on PC in Western Europe. If you are an inquisitive and enjoy hanging out with your friends in shooting games, then all you can do right now is register your hobby.

Liam had a good time with Ubisoft’s free skater Roller Champs.

“Codename“Project U” explores a new concept of session-based co-op shooter,” Ubisoft’s invitation to closed trials reads “where multiplayer unites to win against a overwhelming threat!” Judging by the artwork that accompanies the page, you’ll play as an armored and armed squad against a massive swarm of angular-looking machines. I’ll call them Sporks. Machines, not teams.

Alien? Invaders from the future? Internet comes alive? Whatever these spork-like creatures are, they all have a very eye-catching hot pink color. You can read the FAQ about Project Q demos and sign up for them via here.

Project U is not on the list The game is active at Ubisoft leaked from NVIDIA’s GeForce Now service this time last year. It’s also not the same game as Project Q, which I report back in April. Project Q is a MOBA and Ubisoft certainly doesn’t want you to think it’s a battle royale. That leaked so many times that Ubisoft just upgraded and announced the game, describe it simply “FUN!”.

It’s still something of a mystery wrapped in a shooter, wrapped in an impending test game, but I’ll let you know when I hear anything more about Project U. .
