Uber and Lyft say New York motorists and motorists are no more Mask required. A Lyft spokesperson told Engadget: “With the updated guide to masks for NYC shipping, masks are now optional on Lyft rides. “We’re in the process of updating the app to reflect this.” Uber has notified users of the policy change via email.
The move follows Governor Kathy Hochul’s decision to lift the mandatory regulation of public transportation on Wednesday. New York City’s Taxi & Limousine Commission also announced that face coverings are no longer mandatory for vehicles it oversees, although it still does. Strong recommendation wearing a mask.
