MANILA, Philippines — National University halted a four-game losing streak following a 73-60 win over the University of Santo Tomas late Tuesday during the UAAP Season 84 men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Bulldogs revived hopes of the next round with a fifth win in 12 games, knocking Adamson out in fifth. The Tigers received their fourth consecutive defeat with a score of 3-9 ending their chances of reaching the next round.
NU coach Jeff Napa said: “Good win for us. “We hope we can translate this with UE on Thursday. Our thinking is game by game. “
Reylan Torres scored 18 points, while Mike Malonzo had 11 points for the Bulldogs, who led 63-38 until they took the lead at the end of the fourth half.
