Tyson Fury’s in-wallet bid against Dillian Whyte has extended to January 26

Via Jack Tiernan: The wallet bid for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s fight with mandatory Dillian Whyte has been extended to January 26.

This is because a deal is being worked out for Anthony Joshua and Whyte to pay aside so that Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) and IBF/WBA/WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk can meet for the title. the next undisputed champion.

There are reports from the Middle East that are interested in paying Joshua and Whyte so that the boxing world can watch the fight they have requested between Fury and Usyk.

Joshua can make big money

As of Thursday, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn believed that was the most likely scenario, but he could be wrong. The amount Joshua will make against the winner of the Fury vs Usyk bout will be HUGE, potentially $50 million.

It’s a great deal for Joshua if he steps aside because not only did he avoid a second almost certain loss to Usyk, but he also gets paid handsomely.

Friend can understand why Hearn might not be so happy about watching Joshua step aside as he won’t get a chance to avenge the loss to Usyk from last September. He desperately needs help restoring his popularity to the way it was before that humiliating loss.

Joshua will continue to be seen as damaged goods for all intents and purposes until he can avenge that loss.

The best way for Joshua to restore his good standing with the boxing public is to avenge his loss to Usyk, but he won’t get the chance to do so anytime soon if a set aside deal is struck.

If the deal aside can be worked out, Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) and Whyte will sit on the sidelines and await the outcome of the Fury vs. Usik. It is believed that Joshua will have the first time to fight the winner, then Whyte will have his chance.

Warren looks optimistic

“All I can tell you is that everyone in the boxing world wants to see the unification fight between Tyson and Usyk. I want to see that as a fan, so I’m on the same page as that one,” promoter Frank Warren said Friday morning with iFL TV. “Hopefully, we’ll get over the limit; we shall see.

“I think it will all be revealed tonight. I can’t really say anything at the moment. We’re still working on things like we’re talking about today and I don’t think they’ll reveal anything tonight.

I believe over the weekend; is fine make some progress we’re trying to make. Crossed fingers.

Listen to the conversation step aside

“There is a considerable amount of money now,” Eddie Hearn said to All fighting on reports of Joshua being offered £15m and Dillian Whyte £5m to be scrapped aside, so the undisputed fight between Fury and Usyk could be next.

“There are people who want to make these routes a reality, but not just for the money. It’s about the plan. AJ doesn’t care if you give him some money and said, ‘See you later, man.

“He wants to know what the real plan is, and so does Dillian Whyte, he’s waited a long time and if it has to wait a few more months that’s okay, but how does it work?” Hearn said.

The plan was simple for Joshua. He was paid to step aside so Fury could face Usyk, and then he would fight the winner for all marbles. Joshua could swallow a bitter pill when looked aside, but in the end, it was well worth it.

Instead of thinking about himself, Joshua needs to look at the big picture in terms of fans. The boxing world wants to see Fury going up against Usyk right now, as those two are champions and both are undefeated.

Joshua needs to put his fans first instead of his own needs with a desire for revenge.

Joshua got his chance, and he lost twice, and his career is looking bleak. Even if Hearn plays to his side in arranging matches, it’s unlikely he’ll save Joshua’s career.

Whyte wants to make sure he wins his title, but if he’s going to be paid £5m to wait, it’s a great deal for him.
