Two victims identified after fatal tire explosion
Two victims have been identified following a deadly explosion involving a Delta plane tire near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

According to WSBTVThe two victims who died in the explosion have been identified as 58 years old. Mirko Marweg and 37 years old Luis Aldarondo. EQUAL Shade room As previously reported, the men were initially identified as a Delta employee and a contractor. However, at this time, it is unclear which of the two victims worked for Delta and which was a contractor.
AP News Marweg’s body was reportedly “unrecognizable.” Additionally, his family reportedly relied on his tattoos and a necklace to identify him. Prior to the tragedy, Marweg was said to have worked for Delta for more than 20 years.

Furthermore, WSBTV note that the identity of the third victim – who is currently hospitalized following the explosion – has not yet been revealed. As Shade room As previously reported, the third victim was initially identified as a second Delta employee.
AP News added that the third victim was still receiving “medical attention” as of Wednesday, August 28.

In response, Delta confirmed that “two crew members were lost and another was injured.” Furthermore, the airline asserted that it was working with “local authorities and conducting a full investigation to determine what happened.”
WSBTV The tire that caused the explosion originated on a flight in Las Vegas, it was reported.
