Two killed and one injured after car strikes pedestrians in south Wales | UK News



Two people have died and another injured in south Wales after a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The crash happened on B4273 road, Ynysybwl in Pontypridd, at 6:30pm on Friday and involved a black Ford Focus and three pedestrians, according to local force, South Wales Police.

A spokesman said: “Despite the best efforts of emergency services, two pedestrians, a man and a woman, both 32 years old and from Pontypridd, died at the scene.

“The third pedestrian, a 36-year-old man from Llantrisant, was taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of that man and woman. Their loved ones are known and are being supported by officers.”

The road running from Cefn Close to Daren Ddu Road remained closed on Saturday. South Wales Police thanked the local community for their patience and understanding.

Anyone who saw the collision, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may have recorded the collision, is asked to contact force.
