Two arrests after woman killed in Christmas Eve shooting at Merseyside pub | UK News



Two people have been arrested after a 26-year-old woman was fatally shot in a Merseyside pub on Christmas Eve.

A 30-year-old man from Tranmere was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, and a 19-year-old woman from Rock Ferry was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Both are in police custody and are being questioned by detectives.

Detective Superintendent Sue Coombs from Merseyside Police said: “We have made two arrests in connection with this cold-blooded shooting.

“Elle’s family is still dealing with her tragic loss, and our specially trained family liaison officers are supporting them.

“We will not rest until those responsible are brought to justice and I would urge anyone with information to contact us.

“I urge those who were in the Lighthouse Inn at the time of the incident or anyone with cellphone or CCTV footage of what happened to contact us in the event of an emergency because they may have information that is important to our investigation.

“We are also appealing to motorists and residents in the area, who may have recorded anything on dash cams or CCTV, to contact us and any evidence is very important. important to the investigation.”

Elle Edwards died after being shot in the head at the Lighthouse Inn in the village of Wallasey, Wirral just before midnight on Christmas Eve.

A 28-year-old man injured in the attack remains in serious condition at the hospital.

Three other people suffered non-life threatening injuries in the attack.
