Twitter users share real life stories rather than sound like movie plots
A viral tweet sent people talking about real-life experiences, sounding like a synopsis of a hit Hollywood movie! One user, @AMythicWitch, challenged everyone on Twitter “Tell us a true story from your life that sounds like it made up.” on August 29.
As a result, hundreds of people conveyed the story. In fact, at the time TSR published this story, users left over 4,000 comments and tweeted the post more than 16,000 times!
@AMythicWitch previously asked her followers the same question in December 2021 and May. But here are six stories that featured in August’s Twitter thread.
The killer gives a warning
Twitter user @sivbreak had luck, faith or just complete familiarity on his side when he met a killer who forgave him with a warning.
“The first time I went out at 8pm, I ran into my friend’s grandpa on the way home,” @sivbreak tweeted. “He warned me about being out late, saying people were being killed out there. The next morning, I woke up to the news that I had been arrested for murder.
@sivbreak didn’t provide more details, like names or dates, but he did tease another piece of information in a separate tweet. he wrote, “The motive behind the murder is even wilder, but that’s none of my business.”

Grandpa reincarnated? Probably.
Meanwhile, Twitter user @_decentphil had a lighter, but still tragic, story involving their grandfather. @_decentphil about a younger brother whose grandfather was born.
“Grandpa said he would come back to life only after his mother was late. He died many years ago (4pm, January 15) from a bicycle accident that left a scar on the left side of his head. My baby was born many years late, at 4pm, January 15th and has the same scar on the same spot,” @_decentphil tweeted.

New York love story since birth
Unlike most stories, user Emily C. Singer (@CahnEmily) shared a story focused on love. In fact, the short story is a romantic comedy waiting to happen. Someone called Rachel McAdams on the line!
“My husband and I lived in the same Manhatten apartment building as kids, two floors apart, but our parents have never met and are not friends,” Emily tweeted. “My husband and I finally met 23 years later at a New Year’s Eve party.”
The building was already leased at the time. It’s a super apartment now and they’ve turned it into a one-bedroom apartment that’s overpriced. When I was little, it was a studio, and my parents used to eat dinner on the kitchen floor while I slept 😂 https://t.co/bXbonuUs4Q pic.twitter.com/Zuxn53IkyL

A thief looking for two futures
Twitter user @fabianthafirst_ shared the story of being the victim of a robbery. But instead of taking away from the user all he had, the thief partially refunded it. Robber’s intentions? Look to the future of both.
“The man who robbed me with a gun said he was helping me by taking my phone and giving me back my SIM card because he felt like I looked like someone with a bright future,” @fabianthafirst_ wrote tweets. “& That he hopes to see me in the future & reminds me of his ‘favor’ towards me so that I can help him in life.”
This happened in my second year at Unilag around 10pm in a very dark place on campus and I was only there because I came to surprise my friend. Even now, I don’t even remember what that man looked like because I was so busy getting scared by the gun he pointed at me.

Group Dinner With Blood In Hands Ya
Twitter user @DPMCanty enjoyed a cozy dinner with her boyfriend and a man. She then learns that experience is an alibi for a married murderer.
“A man had dinner with me and my friend as an alibi for a murder he committed,” wrote @DPMCanty. “Just to be clear, he brutally murdered a woman, then came and had a cozy dinner with us. I found out about the murder AND his wife, the kids in another state when the detectives arrived. “
@DPMCanty has shared additional details of the story and even links to prove her story is not tall. “The clean, quiet man,” as described by @DPM Canty, goes by the name Blaine Norris. Blaine strangle Randi Trimble with an extension cord and stabbed her 27 times in her garage on January 10, 2003, every NBC News.
Blaine’s friend Brian Trimble agreed to pay Blaine $20,000 for the murder – about money Blaine was owed for filming an indie horror movie. Blaine later confessed to the crime and prosecutors gave him life without parole in a plea agreement.
Catch a pedophile… Robbing a house
Last but not least is the story of Matthew Hahn (@hagnscratch). Unlike previous stories, Matthew begins as a criminal – only to discover another crime in the process.
“I once robbed a house and stole a safe. I cracked the safe and discovered photos of the owner sexually abusing a child,” Matthew wrote. “He reported the theft to the police. I have submitted photos. The police called him in to discuss the theft. He confessed. We both went to jail.”
Matthew was sentenced to 14 years in the US, while the child molester received 30 years. He has told the story many times over the years.
