Elon Musk has continuously cut jobs since taking power [hotlink]Twitter[/hotlink] in October. First, top executives were fired, then about half of the workers were cut in a massive purge.
Last week, with nearly half of the company left, Musk sent Twitter employees an ultimatum in a company-wide email, asking employees to commit to their Twitter 2.0 mission and become “extremely hard work” or leave the company.
Around 1,000 to 1,200 people chose to leaveaccording to preliminary data shared with Luck by a source at the company. But some employees chose to stay because of Musk’s new regime, which he said would include “many hours at high intensity.”
But some salespeople chose to stay and subscribe to Musk’s new vision of Twitter, which is said to still be fired, the The Wall Street Journal report late Monday.
Employees have been informed in an email that their roles are no longer required. It is not yet clear which departments or roles are subject to these cuts.
