Twitch says its new ad revenue program will make payments more reliable

Twitch has launched a that will guarantee select streamers a certain amount of ad revenue each month. Many creators have spoken out about the difficulty of making a steady living from live streaming platform for all but of streamers. Unless you have a steady stream of followers, the income you earn from Twitch can vary widely from month to month.

“Having a reliable level of ad revenue will allow you to better plan for the future, whatever that may be. We hope it’s an important step towards empowering creators.” Written Twitch on its page.

The new payment model, which Twitch is calling the Ad Incentive Program or AIP, offers a select group of partners and affiliates a fixed monthly payment. In return, the creator agrees to go live for a minimum number of hours per month while the ad is running. Twitch has tapped a select group of streamers to join the AIP at the moment. Selected streamers will see a message on their Ads Manager dashboard inviting them to join the show.

Twitch streamers typically earn money from a variety of sources, including ads, subscriptions, Little (virtual goods that viewers buy to cheer you up) and donations from followers. Not every streamer can make money on Twitch. The platform requires a certain number of followers and airtime before inviting live streamers to join its Affiliate program, which gives creators the ability to monetize their followers. their live stream. Affiliates that gain enough followers and views can then engage in more lucrative activities programme. But maintaining a consistent fan following is extremely difficult, and many creators are exhausted by the long hours. Twitch typically collects 50/50 of the revenue streamers earn from subscriptions, a than YouTube, Facebook and other platforms.

Streamers will have the option to choose from different payment models, and the amount Twitch offers each streamer will vary. In the examples Twitch gives on its website, users who agree to stream for 40 hours per month can choose a $100 payment option to run 2 minutes of ads per hour, a payout of $300. dollars to run 3 minutes of ads per hour or a payment of $500 to run 4 minutes of ads per hour. Celebrities will earn this guaranteed amount regardless of how many viewers there are. After streaming the minimum number of hours required, they will continue to earn revenue at their normal rate.

While the earnings floor can provide some stability to a select group of Twitch streamers, some Twitter streamers have that smaller streamers (those most likely to need a secure source of income) won’t benefit the least. Streamers eligible for Twitch’s new AIP program already have a medium to large fanbase who already watch their streams. But for that select group, AIP can take some of the guesswork out when deciding which advertising strategy will work best.
