Twirling Candy Filly Romps in dazzling premiere
6th-Keeneland, $99,500, Msw4-23, 3yo, f, 7f, 1: 27.96, ft, 12 3/4 lengths.
CASA DE GOAT (f, 3, Spinning candy–Senorita Corredora, by El Corredor) never gave her any reason to be nervous about debuting here. She broke out well from her rail draw to take command as a 4-5 favorite and pulled off the field with every ball. Five lengths up front at the top of the lane, the Elm Racing cross extended its margin to 12 3/4 lengths on the ropes through the Catwings (Cupid), who best performed Please Be Kind (Violence) in a photo for the runner-up title.
Coming from a productive female family, Casa de Goat is one half of Holiday’s Angel (Harlan’s Holiday), MSP, $196,096 and two other winners. The mare also gives birth to a 2-year-old foal by Nyquist as well as a sister full of longing to eat. Senorita Corredora is expecting an Authentic pony this season. This is the family of winners GIII Delaware Oaks Dark Nile (Pioneer of the Nile) and GSP Tres Coronas (Chief’s Crown).
