TVG is renamed, focusing more on sports betting

According to a report on the website Legals Sports Report, TVG a new look is coming soon, one that may put less emphasis on horse racing.
The site is reporting that TVG will be renamed FanDuel TVWill become the “First Watch and Betting Television Network in the United States” TVG2 will be renamed FanDuel Racing. The FanDuel Group, a major player in the sports betting and daily fantasy sports markets, is the parent company of TVG. The changes are expected to take place in September.
The program towards sports betting will start at 5am dong and end at 9am. The period between 7am and 8am will be referred to by the website as a “SportsCenter Style Show” which will be hosted by Kay Adams. Adams is a former host on NFL Network and her hiring was hailed by the website as a “big name acquisition”.
Good news for racing fans TVG plans to continue to highlight the race for much of the rest of the day. However, the live race program will include trailers and sports updates from the FanDuel talent. It looks like the highlight for the night show will be sports and sports bets. According to the report, from 9 p.m., the show will be filled with “watching and betting high school sports, such as Korean football, Chinese rugby and basketball.”
News of the rebranding comes just a day after it was announced that current Chief Marketing Officer Mike Raffensperger has been appointed to the newly created chief commercial officer position. According to the report, “Raffensperger will assume oversight of FanDuel programming and content, including TVG. “
FanDuel bought TVG for $50 million in 2009.
