The modified Apache RR 310 has set a new drag racing record for fastest time in the Indian Open Unlimited Category (Up to 390cc).

Competing in the Indian Open Unlimited (up to 390 cc), the bike completed the 1/4 mile sprint in 11,523 seconds – setting a new record for fastest time in the class. We look at the modifications that make this possible.

TVS Apache RR 310 Modifications Tuned With Scissors
For starters, TVS did a lot of rework Apache RR 310Its 312.2cc engine. It is now equipped with an electronically controlled turbocharger, along with titanium connecting rods, titanium valves and lighter forged pistons. TVS claims the reworked engine produces almost twice as much power as the street bike version.
TVS has also added a programmable and closed-loop electronics system with quick start and gearshift control. To reduce weight, a number of carbon fiber details have been added, including the wheels and subframe. With all these modifications, the drag race-ready bike is said to be 37% lighter than its off-road bike.
The ride height has also been reduced – which TVS says has helped lower the center of gravity for a stable and minimal weight transfer effect during maximum acceleration. The extended swingarm and the resulting increased wheelbase move the center of gravity forward to avoid skidding during acceleration.
Set a new record at The Valley Run 2022
This year’s version of The Valley Run has 220 motorcycles participating in different classes. TVS took the top two spots in the Indian Open Unrestricted Class (up to 390cc) with the tuned Apache RR 310.
Jagan Kumar, a 10-time Indian National Motorcycle Championship champion, set the fastest time of 11,523 seconds. 0.428 seconds faster than the previous record of 11,951 seconds set by the Yamaha RD350. KY Ahamed sets the second fastest time to 11,996 seconds.
