True Valor has retreated to Northview

R. Larry Johnson’s MGSW True Valor (Ire) (Kodiac {GB} –Sutton Veny {Ire}, by Acclamation {GB}) has retired and will be standing at Northview Stallion Station near Chesapeake City, Md. Trainee Graham Motion was last seen runner-up after two Breeders’ Golden Pal Cup winners (Uncle Mo) by a GIII chief Troy S. in Saratoga on August 5.

8-year-old True Valor began his career in Ireland, where he captured the G3 Ballycorus S. -7-4-9 record includes 15 wins or black-type wins, including a third for Casa Creed (Jimmy Creed) in GI Jaipur S. in Belmont this summer. It was his second start of the year after being absent for 13 months through injury while competing in the 2021 G1 Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai. Johnson bought him for $225,000 at the July 2020 Fasig-Tipton Racehorse sale and retired Kodiac’s son with an income of $690,237.

“True Value’s return to racing in 2022 is remarkable, and he shows more speed than any horse I’ve ever trained,” said Motion. “Given his pedigree, ability and build, I think he has the qualities to be a successful stallion.”

A half-brother to No Kay Never (Ire), the 2-year-old is owned by Stonestreet and trained by Wesley Ward (Ire) (No, never), third place in the October 8 Woodbine Cares S. competition, True Valor comes from the same family as G1 Two Thousand Guineas winner Mystiko (Secreto).

True Valor will cost $3,000 for the live foal. More horse discounts will be available.
