The defendants in the Hyderabad case were “quickly arrested and sent to jail,” he tweeted. “After 45 days, the Supreme Court released them on bail… Loopholes in the Juvenile Justice Act, the IPC and the Criminal Code resulted in the rapists being released on bail” in the Jubilee Hills case, he added.

“That’s why I demand that these behaviors be changed so that no rapist is released on bail and when convicted will be jailed for death,” he added, emphasizing his stance. himself in the Bilkis Bano case.

He had previously released 11 men sentenced to life in prison for Ms Bano’s strangulation and the murder of seven members of her family during the 2002 Gujarat riots.

“This is a stain on the collective conscience of our nation,” KTR tweeted, responding specifically to convicts being greeted with confectionery and wreaths.

“What happened to Bilkis Bano today could happen to any of us tomorrow,” he wrote.

The government of Gujarat says the convicts – who have been in prison since they were sentenced in 2008 – were released under parole, only after the Supreme Court asked the state to make a decision on their sentences. plead guilty to one of them.

In the case of the rape of a 17-year-old man in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills about two months ago, five of the six defendants were under 18, meaning relatively less stringent laws apply to them. They were released on bail last month.

Saduddin Malik, who is not a minor, was released on bail in early August after 61 days in prison. His lawyer has argued that Malik is entitled to bail once the police investigation is over and an indictment is also filed.
