Triple winner of the American Theorem leads Bing Crosby


Whatever your style choice, you’ll probably find something you like in Bing Crosby Stakes (G1) July 30 at Del Mar. The tried and true method of circuit current pattern gives you the first three methods from Santa Anita . ParkTriple (G2). Two out of three shippers with solid background records have won shares of the East. And three are California hybrids that have shown enough promise to be considered candidates.

“We tried for a long time and he got in at a fast pace, and it didn’t work out,” said Papaprodromou.

Librado Barocio trains California-born Principe Carlo, a 6-year-old son of Noisy , for David A. Bernsen, Barocio Mia Familia Stability Racing, and Rockingham Ranch. Barocio claimed Principe Carlo for $20,000 at Santa Anita in late 2020 and won the 2021 Cary Grant Stakes at Del Mar with him.

Crosby will be the first start with Bernsen and Rockingham in the Principio Carlo collaboration (post 5, jockey Victor Espinoza). Those two owners have collaborated on Roy HOLY A two-time runner-up at Crosby, but has won two editions of the Breeders’ Cup Sprint and is a two-time Eclipse Award-winning male sprinter.

Miller and Barber belong to the ownership group Missile CZ , an 8-year-old boy trained by Miller, who finished second in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint in 2020 and third in the Crosby in 2021. Miller nominated CZ Rocket for Crosby this year but instead contested elected in the race for the allowance option on July 23 in Del Mar. CZ Rocket won the race which lasted 6 1/2.

Letsgetlucky still hasn’t won the bet, but came in second with Jackie’s Warrior in Earl’s Fleet Sprint Handicap (G3) at Oaklawn Parkhit 3/4 length.

Desmond Doss of California (Florent Geroux, post 1) is making his first grading attempt in Crosby. Racing for the very successful California owner/raider Nick Alexander, Desmond Doss is the son of Alexander’s stallion Grazen . Going up against California breeders, Desmond Doss won consecutive editions of Bertrando Stakes and Thor’s Echo Stakes this year.
