Triangle Strategy Review – Strong Faith Shines In Dark Times

Political plots are often reminders of the evil that exists in our world. Greed and corruption often fuel the ship, causing those responsible to make difficult decisions in unprofitable situations. The Triangle Strategy represents the worst side of humanity in these circumstances, forcing you to question whether peace is an innocent dream and if we can ever get out of the ring of war. are not.

As a newly appointed leader, it is up to you to decide. Thought-provoking questions about how to handle terrible situations make Triangle Strategy an engaging experience, while entertaining tactics keep you coming back to face them. Unfortunately, a number of incidents along the way prevent Triangle Strategy from taking full advantage of these compelling aspects, but even so, it still delivers a compelling experience on and off the battlefield.

Triangle Strategy excels in turn-based strategy mechanics. As you play, you build an army of different units with classes to help you fight grid-based battles where placement and flanks are key. I used altitude to my advantage, as you can deal massive damage and stay safe from counter attacks, and I love finding new places to an advantage, whether it’s positioning yourself on top of a house or cliff. However, the best part is the different abilities your party members have and seeing synergy in action. My favorite moment is when I knock an enemy off a cliff because the damage goes straight to a trap I set with another character a few turns earlier.

You also get a variety of fighters; I had a martial arts grandmother and a children’s circus artist join my ranks. The circus performer can act as bait to fake the contest and absorb damage, while another character can change the weather to affect my magic powers. Speaking of which, the elemental powers you have at your disposal are extremely satisfying when combined with the environment. See an enemy standing in a puddle? Use lightning spells to shock and paralyze them.

There’s also the thrill of watching your team level up, learn new abilities, and roam your headquarters. Three different weapon and level up levels exist to upgrade your character. The former is more about unlocking stat boosts and passive abilities, while the latter improves your stats and unlocks exciting new abilities. Due to how linear the progression is, I wish there was more customization in the character building, but it’s an easy system to grasp and I always look forward to new possibilities due to the new strategies they open up. .

Unfortunately, battles can be a bit repetitive and lengthy; Don’t be surprised if you spend 30 to 45 minutes on a meeting. Towards the end of the game your objectives will be more varied opening up, such as escort and bomb defusing missions, but I wouldn’t call these interesting, mainly as they only span chains The battle is already long. Also, don’t expect to get through the journey without leveling up, especially when you get to the later stages. Battles have a limit on the number of members you can join, and even the characters you join each battle won’t fit the recommended levels for every battle stage. Thankfully, grinding isn’t too difficult as there are mock battles that give great items to upgrade and allow you to hit a level or two to complete.

The story of Triangle Strategy revolves around three countries that control important resources, which have caused major conflicts in the past. For the past 30 years, countries have worked together, sharing resources to maintain peace. However, history tends to repeat itself, and a power-hungry leader will turn everything upside down, leaving some facing the worst of all nations’ leaders. family. Game of Thrones stylistic levels of political intrigue. As a newly appointed leader named Serenoa, you must decide to lay the groundwork for a new era.

The overall plot is nothing new, and it is told through lengthy, boring cutscenes. However, the way the Triangle Strategy makes decisions and deception keeps things fresh. Often, you see different countries plotting against the backdrop of their next move, just enough to make you question whether you can trust them. You are then often presented with a choice that involves the suspicious party in some way. When is the best time to confront them? Do you use them to gain allies and supplies to become stronger now, or cut off all ties for fear of their inevitable betrayal?

You decide your strategy, which usually caters to one of three beliefs: Utility, Morality, or Freedom. This will usually affect the people who join your army. Each conviction is also represented by a character close to Serenoa: his childhood best friend, new fiancé, or loyal counselor. It adds a nice personal touch, as I’m often torn between these personalities I like versus their views on what to do next. When I choose their preferred path, I feel the sting of letting them down, and sometimes the consequences affect whether or not they join me in battle.

Every decision has layers; I can see the pros and cons equally and often feel apprehensive about their potential consequences. It made me weigh every option very carefully. I even found myself surprised by some of my choices. Do you fight enemies to face a greater threat? The few must suffer for the greater good of the many? Triangle Strategy does a great job at making you feel the plight of a leader and the story isn’t afraid to go dark. At times the ominous and hopeless tone makes the game hard to play, but I appreciate the writers for not reverting to the dark human tendencies, especially in times of war and political turmoil.

Playing Triangle Strategy’s battles is perhaps the easiest and most carefree part of the experience. There’s a lot of fun in strategizing and watching your characters’ abilities shine through, and I love passing the competition. The hardest part of the journey is the choices and the bleak realities it confronts you with about the injustices in the world. The game has multiple endings, allowing you to choose your vision for the future. Even with my ending, an end to a much more idealistic, benevolent world, I was still a bit disappointed. But, perhaps, that is the problem. And so Triangle Strategy isn’t like most games you’ll play, which is what makes it special, even if it’s not always perfect at bringing out hard truths.
