Travis Kelce was stressed about whether or not to bow when Taylor Swift introduced him to Prince William
IN Travis Kelceof, in case you “went to Zero Dark Thirty and stayed off social media all weekend,” Killa Trav had a big adventure in London last weekend, see girlfriend Taylor Swift performed his sell-out Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium three nights in a row, making a suddenly appeared on stage at the final concert, Louboutins and all, and—no big deal, really—meeting the next three people in line for the British throne, Prince William, Prince GeorgeAnd Princess Charlotte.
Above Latest episode of A new levelpodcast he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelcepublished on Wednesday and recorded over the weekend from a Philadelphia-themed pub in Jolly Olde London, the brothers discussed meeting the Welsh, British slang and the ability to suck on objects (including a glass beer mug) around Jason’s mouth so he can use his hands for other activities, like getting his arm full of beaded friendship bracelets that he makes himself boast.
Travis, who spent some time recently 10+ minutes discussing Swift on another podcastEagerly talked about Jason’s first Taylor Swift concert, which he did urged his brother to work for many months. Along with Jason’s wife Kylie Kelce (or “Princess Kyana,” as her siblings affectionately call her), in Travis’s words, the two “watched Tay absolutely tear it up.” Jason couldn’t help but compare Swift to another music legend.
“It was a great experience, obviously the Swifties made it very memorable,” he said. “It was a great experience. It was great, everyone enjoyed it, they sang all the songs. There were two concerts that happened like that: That concert and the first time I saw Bruce Springsteen live. But there’s a level of equality, like these crazy fandoms love these artists so much that they know all the songs, even all the shows.”
He even got a little emotional during the show, admitting that the part of the evening where Swift gave her hat to an audience member touched him.
“The ’22’ hat,” he said. “Dude, I’ve never cried at a fucking concert and I literally shed a tear watching this whole little girl—I’m about to cry right now! It’s so special. It was great.”
Daughter WyattSwift’s favorite song is “The Man,” which he dutifully filmed and sent home across the pond, but Jason revealed that “the highlight of the evening for me” was the set Swift’s unexpected acoustic singing.
“To perform well in front of 90,000 people with just that, I think you have to be amazing,” he said. “And you have to have, one, great songs, great lyrics, obviously written and composed by her, and then be able to perform them seamlessly on the spot, with nothing else to show. hide that?”
He continued in a terrified tone.
“It’s the most intimate place,” he said. “You are [with] 90,000 people, but for some reason, you feel like you’re in a bar listening to someone play the piano. Damn, it was amazing.”
Travis, as noted, is proud of Swift, unable to help but add, “she gets it.”
The brothers also enjoyed meeting Prince William and his two eldest children, leading to Travis’ legendary debut on Swift’s Instagram grid. Jason also met royal VIPs. Of William, Travis said, “Dude, he’s the best asshole.”
Jason passed away?
“I still call him prince,” he said. “I never felt weak, and I did. That was the closest I ever came.” Also: “He’s a nice guy.”
Even though he was prepared to meet the royal family, Travis admitted to being nervous about the classic question “What do I do with my hands?” dilemma.
“Not sure if I should bow to them, curtsy, just be a fucking American idiot and shake their hand: ‘Sup, man!’” he said. “We wanted to be polite, especially since we are on this side of the pond.”
He continues to badmouth Jason about his respect for royalty.
“I have never seen you respect someone so much. You put the beer about 10 feet away from you,” he said. “’Your Highness, thank you. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your kingdom.”
The Kelce family said they were happy to meet all three of these royal fish, but for them, one little royal fish stood out more and was considered the champion.
“I have to say, Prince William is amazing, but the highlight is Princess Charlotte,” Jason said. “Prince George is also amazing. [But] she is very lovely.”
Travis agreed and called the young princess a “superstar.” They praised William and Kate Middletontheir parenting style of encouraging their daughters to speak up for themselves. “If anyone is doing it right, Prince William is doing it right,” Travis said.
“I can’t explain how, maybe because I have three daughters now, she’s so into her, she asks questions, that’s probably the most fascinating part of it,” Jason added.
All in all, it seems safe to say that the Kelce brothers had a good time in London.
