Trader stripped, thrashed in train over religious slogan | India News
BAREILLY: A 45 year old aluminum trader from Moradabad city allegedly stripped, beaten for nearly an hour with a belt, pulled a beard and forced to chant’Jai Shree Ram‘ in a moving train in UP. Mohd Asim Hussain was on his way home from Delhi on Pratapgarh constraint Express Padmavat on 12 January when the incident occurred between Hapur and Moradabad railway stations.
The matter came to light after video of the incident went viral on Friday, in which one could see him being assaulted by a group of men along with others forcing him to chant religious slogans.
Initially, he filed an ‘oral’ complaint with the GRP in Moradabad, after which several defendants were briefly detained. On Friday, he obtained a clip of the incident and filed a written complaint. In it, he alleges that he was assaulted and then pushed off the train. He also alleged that he was forced to say ‘Jai Shree Ram’.
