Trade Deal Nearly Done, But India-UK Won’t Sign Off Until…
London:
Trade Secretary Greg Hands said Britain had completed most parts of a free trade agreement with India but would only sign on to it when satisfied that it was fair and reciprocal.
“We have concluded most of the chapters and look forward to the next round of negotiations shortly,” Hands told parliament. The government previously said it wanted to finalize the deal in Diwali, a deadline passed earlier this week.
“We are working to get the best deal for both sides and will not sign until we have an agreement that is fair, reciprocal and ultimately in the best interest of the British people. and the British economy.”
