Toyota Motor is ready to offer a hybrid version of its flagship MPV to global markets. It is also set to land in India soon.
Toyota Motor is set to launch the upcoming Innova HyCross MPV to global markets later this year. Ahead of the launch, the automaker revealed some of the changes the MPV will undergo in the new avatar. After introducing the front and configuration of the new Innova HyCross, Toyota introduced the interior for the first time. The teaser image shows that the MPV will have a panoramic sunroof, a first for the model. However, the sunroof will probably only be for the top variants. It will also come with ambient lighting.
Previously, leaked images of the Innova HyCross showed the front with an updated grille. The new vertical hexagonal grille is more dynamic with chrome accents underneath. On either side of the new grille are redesigned headlights that are slimmer. Currently, it is difficult to say whether it will have LED technology or not. The bonnet also has strong signature lines to give it a more SUV face.
‘s profile Toyota The Innova HyCross has also been tweaked a bit to appear different from existing Innova Crysta models. It has a slightly curved roofline towards the rear for a more SUV-ish configuration. The wheel arches are also large and are expected to have 16-inch or 17-inch wheels.
The new Innova HyCross will be based on Toyota’s TNGA platform. It will be equipped with 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline engines combined with a powerful hybrid or hybrid powertrain. It is also expected to come with more features such as a new infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree parking camera and ventilated seats among others.
According to reports, the new Toyota Innova HyCross MPV will have a starting price of 455 million Indonesian Rupiah (approximately approx. 23.75 thousand). Toyota is expected to launch the new Innova HyCross in India on November 25. It will likely be sold alongside the existing Innova Crysta model.
