Toyota Innova HyCross launched with powerful hybrid power


Toyota Motor has unveiled the Innova Zenix MPV, which will be launched in the next few days in India as the Innova HyCross MPV, for the global market. Toyota is offering the Innova HyCross with two powertrain options, including a powerful hybrid system as previously anticipated. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter petrol engine that is also paired with a powerful hybrid powertrain. The Innova HyCross is much bigger and bolder than the Innova models currently selling in India. This is all it will offer when Toyota officially introduces it to the Indian market on November 25.

The Innova Xenix model launched in Indonesia has a length of 4,755 mm, a width of 1,850 mm and a height of 1,795 mm. The car also comes with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The Innova HyCross will offer 185 mm ground clearance. The upcoming Innova Hycross is based on a new monolithic chassis from Toyota, instead of the ladder chassis used in previous generation models. It is capable of improving ride quality, handling and body roll.

The hybrid technology used in the Innova Zenix is ​​the same as that used for the latest Toyota Prius. The Innova Zenix Hybrid EV produces 152 PS of power and 188 Nm of peak torque. The 4-cylinder Dual VVT-i engine is boosted by an electric motor with 113 hp and 206 Nm of torque, for a combined output of 186 hp. Both the gasoline engine and the hybrid engine are equipped with a CVT transmission. The hybrid model offers three driving modes including Eco, Normal, Power and EV.

In terms of appearance, the new Innova MPV has a more SUV look. At first glance, it seems quite similar to the appearance of MG Hector SUVs. The grille is now bigger and bolder with less chrome intervention. The grille is surrounded by sleek LED headlights and LED DRL bars. The front bumper is also muscular with large air vents on the sides.

The biggest change in the exterior is the shape of the new Innova HyCross. The MPV will come with a sloping roofline effect in Column C, further enhancing the SUV-inspired look. It is further accentuated by the large wheel arches on the sides. MPV stand on wheels allow 18 inches. At the rear, the new Innova HyCross will likely have LED taillights.

The cabin of the Innova HyCross will come with a giant floating touchscreen infotainment system that can also mirror your smartphone or tablet. The rear passengers also get personal digital displays. The upright center console houses the climate control system, transmission settings and other functions. The interior will get a two-tone theme with chrome accents on the dashboard and new upholstery, adding to the premium appeal. It also offers a panoramic sunroof, a first for an MPV.
