Toyota Innova Crysta diesel price, Hycross gas price, variants, powertrain, features and competitor details
Toyota has only announced prices for the G, GX and VX variants of the Crysta; ZX price will come later.

Toyota recently launched Innovation Crystal with a small facelift at Rs 19.13 lakh. Crysta facelift, as we know it, is sold with the higher end version Innova Hycross. The Innova Hycross 2023 looks similar to its predecessor, except for an updated front fascia, a slightly smaller and more prominent grille, a more aggressive front bumper and redesigned fog lamp sockets.

Currently, Toyota has only announced the prices of the G, GX and VX versions of the Innova Crysta. Pricing for the top-of-the-line ZX version has yet to be announced. Considering that the Innova Crysta is being sold alongside the Innova Hycross, we take a look at how the two MPVs compare with their respective prices, variants and features.
Toyota Innova Crysta and Hycross variants and prices
The Innova Crysta is priced from Rs 19.13 lakh for the G version and Rs 19.99 lakh for the GX version. This makes it significantly more expensive than comparable petrol versions of the Innova Hycross. The Crysta G is Rs 58,000 more expensive than the Hycross G, and the price difference between the GX variants of the two MPVs is Rs 59,000.

This is despite the fact that the Innova Hycross is positioned as the more premium product between the two. Also, it’s worth noting that the Crysta only comes with a manual-diesel powertrain, while the Hycross, in G and GX versions, is only available as a petrol car.
However, with the VX variant, the price will lean towards the Innova Crysta. Interestingly, even the Crysta VX costs Rs 19.99 lakh and is much cheaper than the Innova Hycross VX, which starts at Rs 24.76 lakh. This is because the VX version of the Hycross and all versions above it are only available with the potent hybrid powertrain. More sophisticated hybrid technology, coupled with a longer equipment list, means that the VX version of the Hycross is more expensive than the Crysta.
Features of Toyota Innova Crysta vs. Hycross
The G and GX variants of both MPV models have similar equipment. In the GX version, both models have features such as 16-inch alloy wheels, touch screen with Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity, 16-inch alloy wheels, reclining rear seats rear and height-adjustable driver’s seat. On the safety front, the Crysta has three airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, while the Hycross only has two on the GX variant. When it comes to seating arrangements, the G and GX variants of both MPV models can either seat eight or seven, the latter with a captain’s seat for the second row.
In VX version, Innova Hycross offers more features than Crysta. The former has features like fully LED taillights, a 360-degree camera, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a rear sunshade and larger 17-inch alloy wheels – all of which the Crysta misses out on.
Toyota Innova Crysta vs Hycross powertrain details
The Crysta comes with a single 2.4-liter diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Hycross, on the other hand, has two powertrains. It comes with a 172 hp, 2.0 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a CVT transmission. It is also equipped with a powerful 2.0-liter, 184-horsepower hybrid powertrain paired with an electronic transmission. Toyota does not offer the Hycross with a diesel engine or a manual transmission.
Rivals of Toyota Innova Crysta and Hycross
Innova Crysta has no direct rival at the moment. While the price overlaps with higher variations of carens diesel engine, there is no MPV in the same price range as the Crysta. However, Crysta prices overlap with some SUV variants such as Mahindra XUV700, tata safari and MG Hector. There’s also no MPV in the same price range as the Hycross, but like the Crysta, it competes with the aforementioned three-row SUVs, albeit in their higher variants.
