Toyota debuted Hyryder CNG in India, with prices starting from Rs 13.23 lakh and rising to Rs 15.29 lakh (former showroom, Delhi). It’s a brand Reservations are open for Hyryder CNG in November 2022, with a token amount of Rs 25,000. Compared to the equivalent petrol-powered version, the Hyryder CNG is Rs 95,000 more expensive. Hyryder is only the second midsize SUV after Maruti Grand Vitara equipped with a factory-equipped CNG kit.

Toyota Hyryder CNG: powertrain details
Hyryder CNG uses the same 1.5-liter, four-cylinder K12C engine as Ertiga and XL6 CNG. In gasoline mode, the engine produces 103 hp and 136 Nm, but in CNG mode, the power drops to 88 hp and 121.5 Nm. As is the case with most CNG models, the Hyryder CNG is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission and Toyota claims the midsize SUV can deliver fuel economy of 26.6 km/kg.
Toyota Hyryder CNG: design and features
The Hyryder CNG retains the overall exterior design of the mild-hybrid petrol version, except for the addition of the CNG badging. On the inside, the Hyryder CNG has an all-black interior with the same switches and steering wheel as its Maruti counterpart, the Grand Vitara. However, because Toyota has installed a 60-liter CNG tank in the trunk of the SUV, it has reduced storage capacity compared to its petrol counterpart.
In the G version, Hyryder CNG has equipment such as full LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, 9.0-inch touchscreen system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, engine start/stop button, six airbags, cruise control and a reverse camera with parking sensors.
Toyota Hyryder CNG: rival
Hyryder CNG will compete directly with Grand Vitara CNG and also rivals other midsize SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Nissan kicks, Skoda Kushaqand Volkswagen Taiwancurrently no CNG option.
