Toyota Highlander 2023 has turbocharger
It’s hard not to be impressed by the sports offerings manufactured by Toyota, such as GR Corolla or Supra. However, means such as Toyota Highlander is the bread and butter of the car manufacturer model range. While the trademark of cars and crossovers are considered boringthey at least bear a seal of reliability. So when Toyota introduced 2023 Highlander, without much excitement, but the improvements below might be a little more appealing care about.
Toyota Highlander 2023 will come with a new 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in gasoline-powered SUVs. The 265-horsepower inline-four is 30 hp less than the 3.5-liter V6 it replaces. Even so, the new engine is an improvement in two areas, torque and emissions. The turbocharger produces 310 pound-feet of torque, a 17% increase over the outgoing VThe 6 engine’s benchmark is 263 pound-feet. Toyota also claims that this new engine reduces the Highlander’s NOx and NMOG emissions by more than 50%.
Highlander trim levels such as the XSE, Limited and Platinum models offer all-wheel drive Driver. The performance-conscious system features Dynamic Torque Generation with Driveline Select and Disconnect. Highlander Hybrid Limited and Platinum models also have all wheels Driver. On hybrid models, however, the gas-powered engine is mounted on the front axle while the electric motor drives the rear wheels.

The new Toyota Highlander will be arriving at dealerships this month. The base model with the new turbocharged four-cylinder engine starts at $36,420. The hybrid model starts at an MSRP of $40,220. While every Toyota on the road can’t be a GR Corolla, it’s interesting to see the prolific Japanese automaker keep performance in mind for the Highlander.
