In what seems to have been an unfortunate accident, a 22-year-old British man went right into the tail propeller of the private helicopter he and his friends flew on Monday. He was instantly killed.
In what sounded like a bad end to a very nice vacation, victim Jack Fenton and his three friends, along with Fenton parents, chartered two private helicopters for a summer vacation filled with flights to various luxury islands in Greece. The friends ride in one helicopter, while the parents ride in the other. The group is heading to Athens Eleftherios Venizelos Airport to board a private plane back to the UK, according to Greek news agency. Kathimerini.
Fenton was the first to get off the helicopter. He and his friends were escorted to a private lounge to await boarding. Fenton broke away from the group and returned to the helipad without an escort to take an alleged selfie. Times.

A senior police source told Time: “He [Fenton] was the first to land a Bell 407 helicopter in Athens and as he moved to the back he was hit in the head by the plane’s small rear propeller. There is no chance for him to survive. His death was immediate.”
Witnesses told police officers tried to stop Fenton, but he reported had the phone in his ear and was walking fast. After the incident, the pilot was able to radio the second helicopter, which diverted so Fenton’s parents won’t see the scary scene. The police arrested the two ground technicians and the pilot of the helicopter and initially accused them of manslaughter, but the staff argued they did everything to prevent death.
