Tory Lanez fan petition appeals Meg Thee Stallion’s verdict
Nearly 40,000 won tory lanez fans and counting signed a petition to appeal last week’s guilty verdict in rapper Meg Thee Stallion shooting, in an attempt to save him time in prison.
The Change.org The lawsuit, which comes shortly after Lanez was found guilty of shooting Meg on Friday, calls on the jury as well as the music industry as a whole, and specifically names people like Jay-Z and RocNation as part of a potential conspiracy against the Canadian rapper.
The petition was created to appeal the guilty verdict of Tory Lanez, whose supporters called the trial a “circus” while criticizing the jury as “irresponsible.”
The petition’s creator, which has exactly 36,534 signatures at the time this article was published, even claims that Lanez was a sacrificial lamb donated to serve Black women. .
“(The trial was a) round of speculation, incomplete evidence, contradictions, and intoxicating memory [that] leaves us with little moral certainty as to any facts,” the petition reads.
Tory fans attacked the jury – calling them irresponsible – while adding that they rushed the decision, which resulted in the rapper being unjustly found guilty of all three felony gun counts.
The petition then went on to make some bizarre claims against “heads of (record labels) and (industry) music,” namely Jay-Z and RocNation.
“This case is also about brands, marketing, label heads, and the music industry driving stories based on people they have invested millions of dollars in. Can Jay-Z or RocNation join??
The petition’s creator suggested that the case was only made due to “political pressure to fake ‘protection’ of black women.”
Yasin Toure’, who created the petition, also hinted that the incident was “done only because of political pressure to artificially protect Black women”, which ultimately ended caused more division among Negroes than protection, Toure’ wrote.
“Is this case made because of political pressure to protect black women? African Americans used hashtags that didn’t protect anyone and instead caused a divide between black women and black men.”
While efforts by fans and Lanez himself to appeal his guilty verdict are still ongoing, it will be a tough road to win an appeal, according to TMZ. Appellate courts usually do not reach guilty verdicts, because they may interpret facts differently from the jury.
